PARIS, MIAMI, SINGAPORE, MOSCOW, NOVEMBER 3, 2016 - ATEME today announced that Orion, one of the largest satellite media platforms in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), selected ATEME’s encoders and decoders to follow its expansion program in the region. Based on the ATEME fifth Generation STREAM compression engine, the Kyrion encoder provides the best baseband video quality at minimum bitrates. This solution has been designed for contribution over satellite and IP networks, with value added features such as ultra-fast-boot, ultra-low latency, and ABR output. The ATEME Kyrion offers a software upgradable HEVC encoding option to support UHD video streaming, as well as legacy MPEG2 to H264 compressions.
